Stanton native Dan Terry has a series of book signings set up for his newest ghost book, "Hermann Shadows, Ghosts in the Heart of Wine Country."

This Friday, Oct. 23, he will be at Buy the Book bookstore in Hermann from 5 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 24, he will be at Borders, 15355-A Manchester (Ballwin), from 1 to 3 p.m.

Next week, he will be at the Washington Ghost Tour Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 29; and at the Bank Bar in Hermann, Saturday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Finally, Terry will be at the History Fair at East Central College Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m.; and at the St. Louis Genealogical Society Sunday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m.

A regular contributor to Haunted Times magazine, Terry - who works as the assistant police chief for New Haven - continues to bring his police background into play to search out the paranormal, utilizing police techniques and scientific equipment.

In gathering material for his books, Terry researches the history of the site to learn what might have happened there to incite paranormal activity.

His previous books include "Beyond the Shadows, Exploring the Ghosts of Franklin County" and "Missouri Shadows: A Journey Through the Lesser Known, the Famous and the Infamous Haunts of Missouri."

Books are available in New Haven at Pratt's and in Hermann at Wine Valley Inn and Buy the Book bookstore; in Washington at Book Depot and Washington Historical Society; at Barnes & Noble and Borders stores; and online from Amazon.com and from missourikidpress.com.

Terry is a 1981 graduate of Sullivan High School and is the assistant police chief at New Haven.
