Do We Need a Benevolent Dictator?

To The Editor:
Mr. Editor, conservatives should have better things to do besides getting their shorts in a bundle over the Nobel Peace Prize award to President Obama. The fact that he has promised to donate to charities whatever financial awards that come with the prize should be of some solace to everyone.

Obviously, a bunch of Norwegians have been hood-winked into thinking that the Pied Piper of the Potomac deserves the award. Ostensibly, Mr. Obama has received the award for bringing the disparate Middle-Eastern factions "to the table." Getting those guys to meet is one thing, but getting them to agree on anything is quite another. If nothing else, the president is a clever wordsmith.

What a gift he has to help preach the agenda of the far left. Throw in a copious amount of narcissism, and you have a pretty potent combination. Until the Republican Party can figure out a way to win over the two groups who won the election for the president - the black folks and the young folks - our country's dalliance with ultra-liberalism will continue. By the way, those who disagree with the president are tired of being called wing-nuts, and as being unpatriotic (Pelosi). What's that all about?

Well, Mr. Editor, if nothing else, political discussions keep things interesting. The only way to get away from that is to shuck our democratic republic form of government, and find a really cool benevolent dictator.

Whose Ox
Whose Ox is gored? "...Right Wingers please quit your whining and try to be good Americans and support the President..." But descent is patriotic isn't it? It was in W's day so surely it is now. To continue the barnyard references, "What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander." I would submit it is not whining to disagree.

"...you may not want to believe this Kruschav had a lot to do with taking down the wall." An amazing man, Krushchev, in that he died in 1971and the Berlin Wall fell in 1989. Trust me on this, George, you may get crank phone calls but you won't get calls about history or foreign policy questions so go ahead and sign your name.

"He (Obama) won the Peace Prize because he is not a war monger like our past president. Get a life." Amazing, yet another example of Mayfly historical knowledge. (You may not get the reference, disgusted, so let me explain the Mayfly is born and dies all in the same day.) Any objective look at the events prior to Gulf War II would show numerous statements by President Clinton, Vice President Gore, Sec. State Albright and numerous other Democrats citing the dangers of Saddam to the USA and the absolute necessity of controlling his WMDs. Essentially G.W. Bush continued the Clinton policies toward Iraq and after 9/11 and after numerous violations of UN Security Council Resolutions by Saddam declared war on Iraq.

BTW, disgusted, if not being G.W.Bush is the sole criteria for winning the Nobel Peace Prize then I want my Peace Prize and so do the other 300 million people in the USA that aren't Bush. No doubt you will consider that statement to be whining. Okay, I will accept that label if you will accept your position of Obama actually deserving the Peace Prize as the sycophantic adulation that it is.

Racist. Bob.oblong, do you really think pointing out Obama won the election based on votes from black folk and young folk is racist? Okay, throw out the black and youth vote and who won? It wasn't Obama. Or do you object to the term "Pied Piper of the Potomac" which we all know is a underhanded reference to pipers everywhere? No, it can't be either of those so it must be the " narcissism" that evoked the charge of racism. No, that doesn't seem possible either. Too deep for me, bob. I and no doubt thousands more just like me are totally perplexed at the charge of racism you leveled.

The Wall
Mr Reagan did not do it alone, you may not want to believe this Kruschav had a lot to do with taking down the wall. The Russians were not scared of Reagan, they wanted to get away from having to take care of East Germany. I do not gi ve my full name, reason I do not want crank phone calls from people who do not like what I say

Compare now to 1980s
It's amazing how liberal even the peace prize has become. President Reagan got the USSR to collapse giving peace and freedom to millions and I don't believe he got a peace prize. I don't think that compares to the current President who was in office for 2 weeks and got nominated. I don't think showing weakness is going to bring peace. As you all know, I always sign my name, because I'll stand behind what I say, unlike some others.
