Spirit Days: Students are encouraged to dress up according to a different theme every day to show their school spirit. Monday was Tye-up the Tigers Day (tie-dye), Tuesday was Safari Day,
Wednesday is Tribal Day (seniors wear blue, juniors wear orange, sophomores wear green and wear yellow.
Thursday - Rambo Day (camouflage)
Friday - Do You Bleed Red? (Red and Gray Day)
Pep Club will be sponsoring a competition for participation in Spirit Days between the classes. Ms. Enyart will also be sponsoring a Hallway Decorating competition between the classes. Prizes will be awarded to the winning grade!
McDonald's Class Competition: St. Clair McDonald's is sponsoring a class competition for grades nine to 12.
For every $1 purchased from now through Oct. 1, customers may receive one ticket to vote on the class of their choice.
The winning class receives $500 courtesy of St. Clair McDonald's. The prize will be awarded at the pep assembly.
Powder Puff: The annual Powder Puff football game will be played between the junior and senior girls on Friday, Oct. 2, at 12:30 p.m. on the high school football field. Admission is two cans of food or $2. Proceeds will benefit local Holiday food baskets.
Pep Assembly (sponsored by SCHS Pep Club): Friday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. on the high school football field.
The pep assembly will include a performance by the high school band and class games.
The homecoming candidates will participate in a competition and the faculty king and queen will be crowned.
Parents and community members are welcome to attend.
Bonfire: Thursday, Oct. 1, at 9 p.m. on the lower level of the student parking lot (SCHS students only).
Parade: Friday, Oct. 2 at 9:30 a.m.
This year's homecoming parade grand marshall will be Gladys Edwards, wife of the late Robert M. Edwards.
The Robert M. Edwards Sports Complex was named in honor of the former St. Clair School District superintendent for his 30 years of service and dedication to the district.
Mr. Edwards kept the St. Clair R-XIII School District moving forward and upward.
Always by his side providing strength and a rock solid sounding board was his wife, Gladys, and his wonderful family.
Parade participants will also include homecoming candidates, high school clubs, organizations, fall athletes, and class floats.
The class floats follow the homecoming themes: Seniors "Cage 'em Up," juniors, "King of the Jungle," sophomores, "Smoke the Tigers" and freshmen, "Watch Out for Those Dogs."
The parade route will be the same as last year: High School Drive to Bardot, Bardot to Springfield, Springfield to Main and Main to Kitchell where busses will pick up students in the Evergreen Park baseball field parking lot.
Businesses along the parade route are encouraged to decorate windows and lawns. If interested in having students help, please contact the high school.
Football Game: SCHS will take on the St. James Tigers. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Honor Society will be recognizing the Class of 1985 with a reception from 6 to 7 p.m. in the high school library.
Class members will also be recognized at halftime of the game.
A group photograph will be taken at 6:45 p.m. All members of the 1985 graduating class and their spouse/guest are invited to attend. Reception attendees will receive free admission to the homecoming game.
Coronation: Halftime of the football game. Queen candidates include: Shelby Bay, Lindsay Hinson, Krista Jobe, Sarah Nardi, Courtney Pursley, Katie Schmidt, Kaitlyn Schmitt and Cierra Sellers. King candidates include: Micah Bell, Jeff Deason, Bobby Heibeck, Josh Krueger, Kevin Lashley, Ty Martinez, Cody Moore and Adam Purviance.
Dance: Immediately following the football game until midnight.
Tickets are available in advance for SCHS students for $3 or at the door for $5. Guest tickets are $5 and guests must complete a guest form available in the high school office.
