Dennis Van Johnson 1949 - 2009

Dennis Van Johnson, 60, Warrenton, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, in Warren County.

Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 31, 1949, in St. Louis, the son of Ortin F. Johnson and wife Perma, nee Dunnigan.

Mr. Johnson served his country in the U.S. Army in 1969.

He was a forklift operator for General Motors for 42 years and a member of UAW Local 2250.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Johnson is survived by two sons, Todd Johnson and Shawn Johnson, both of Warrenton; one brother, Dan Johnson and wife Theresa, Indiana state; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 3-6 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton.

Memorials to the family in care of Martin Funeral Home are preferred. The family is being served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.



Robert F. Stuermann 1930 - 2009

Robert F. Stuermann, 78, Centralia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Stuart House, Centralia.

Mr. Stuermann was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Marthasville, the son of Frederick Stuermann and wife Bertha Christine, nee Thee.

On May 8, 1965, in Holstein, he was married to Delphine Schwerdt.

Mr. Stuermann served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was an active member of American Legion Post 113, Centralia.

He was employed at Binkley Company, Warrenton, for 38 years and was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Warrenton.

Mr. Stuermann was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Delphine, Centralia; one daughter, Donna Wiss and husband David and two grandsons, Devan Wiss and Darek Wiss, all of Centralia; one brother, Frankie Stuermann and wife Cheryl, Warrenton; two sisters, Ann White, Cottonwood, Ariz., and Ella Moseley, Valencia, Calif.; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at Lippstadt Cemetery, Warrenton, with the Rev. Jason Emmerson officiating.

Memorials to American Legion Post 113, Centralia, are preferred.

The family is being served by Fenton Funeral Home, Centralia.



Marcella E. Weigle 1922 - 2009

Marcella E. Weigle, 86, Warrenton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Warrenton Manor after a brief illness.

Mrs. Weigle was born Nov. 23, 1922, in St. Louis, the daughter of August Schneider and wife Rhoda, nee Seigler.

Mrs. Weigle was a homemaker.

She was married to Samuel P. Weigle for 67 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel P. Weigle in 2007, her parents, and one brother, Maurice Schneider.

Mrs. Weigle is survived by her nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; her sisters-in-law; other relatives and many friends.

She will be greatly missed by her niece, Sally Imboden, and her nephew, Steve Schneider, and their families.

The family is deeply grateful for the help and friendship of Judy and Roger Brakensiek of Warrenton.

Funeral services and burial were private.

Memorials to the donors choice in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.

The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.



Funeral services for Betty L. Kellison, 64, Wright City, were held Friday, Sept. 4, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Warrenton.

Mrs. Kellison died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at her home.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Kellison; one daughter, Amy Pruitt and husband Johnny Lee, Hawk Point; other relatives and many friends.

The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
