The conservative National Review's editorial titled, "Born in the USA," printed July 28, 2009, also refutes claims similar to Farah's, noting, "he (Obama) was born in the U.S.A."
Even the National Review ridicules those who question his eligibility to be president:
"Much foolishness has become attached to the question of President Obama's place of birth, and a few misguided souls among the Right have indulged it."
In addition, Farah wrongly associates FactCheck with the Annenberg Chicago Challenge. (Obama served on the Chicago Challenge board several years ago.)
While the Annenberg Foundation funds FactCheck and the Annenberg Chicago Challenge was funded through an Annenberg grant, there are no other connections between the two. The Annenberg Chicago Challenge was completed before there was a FactCheck.org. A little more research would have shown that FactCheck is not a fly-by-night organization. It is the product of solid reporting done at the Annenberg Public Policy Center located at the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School of Communications.
I am disappointed to see The Missourian detract from legitimately serious issues by giving time, energy and space to this topic.
