James and Judith Derner, Washington, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Marie Derner, to Brian Kevin Coppin, son of Kevin and Vicki Coppin, Ballwin.
Jill is a 1997 graduate of St. Francis Borgia Regional High School and a 2001 graduate of Maryville University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy. She is employed by St. John's Mercy Rehab Hospital, Chesterfield, as a physical therapist.
Brian is a 1999 graduate of Marquette High School and a 2003 and 2007 graduate of Maryville University, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in actuarial science. He is employed as a financial risk assistant for Reinsurance Group of America.
The couple plan a Sept. 26, 2009, wedding.
