Visitation was held Friday, June 19, at Sullivan High School.
Richardson will be buried with full military honors at Cave Spring Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather after the funeral at the Sullivan VFW Post.
On Friday, Gov. Jay Nixon ordered flags in the state to be flown at half-staff on Saturday to honor Richardson.
Both the United States and Missouri flags will be lowered Saturday and will remain at half-staff at all state buildings in Franklin County until June 26.
Richardson was born Feb. 16, 1976, to Angelia Robin Orick Hartung and Rick Richardson Sr.
He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1994.
He attended Lindenwood University, playing football on athletic and scholastic scholarships.
After a year at Lindenwood, Richardson entered the U.S. Marine Corps.
On June 21, 1997, he married Jennifer Payne at the Sullivan Christian Church.
The couple has one son, 8-year-old Cole.
Military Service
Richardson trained in the infantry and was a machine gunner from 1996 through 2000.
He attended Explosive Ordnance Disposal School from 2000-2001.
Richardson was an EOD technician (Military Bomb Squad) from 2001-2007 and an EOD officer since 2007.
His deployments included two tours of duty to Okinawa, one to Africa, one to Pakistan, three to Iraq and one tour to Afghanistan.
Chief Richardson had received a Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, the Navy and Marine Achievement Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation - Navy and Letters of Appreciation.
A legion of military officials and law enforcement officers met Richardson's body at Lambert-St. Louis Airport Thursday.
His body was escorted to Sullivan by state, county and military personnel.
