"We are continuing to bring in more events for the kids to do," she said.
Grimm said she wants to encourage more family activities at the Saturday, Aug. 15, picnic.
"This is an event for everyone," she said. "We are going to work to make it bigger and better while retaining all the things that made it great."
Meal Prices
The chicken and kettle-cooked beef dinners will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Tickets for those 12 and older are $8.50. Children's tickets for ages 6 to 11 are $3.
Children 5 and under eat for free.
Advanced meal ticket sales will begin in July.
The picnic will feature the outside kitchen and sandwich stand which has become popular in recent years.
The outdoor stands will have burgers, bratwurst, fish, chips, funnel cakes and nachos.
Frozen lemonade, strawberry juice and cotton candy also will be available. In an effort to make the picnic as affordable for families as possible, the picnic committee has several savings options.
The church will offer a family special. Those who purchase four adult meal tickets will receive $10 in free game tickets.
The picnic will offer two kids pack options this year.
The first armband, for children ages 6 to 11, is $20.
The band includes unlimited train rides, bounce house jumps and a free meal. The second armband will sell for $15 and is aimed at children up to age 5.
This armband also will include unlimited train rides and bounce house jumps. The picnic shifted its alcohol sales last year to a more traditional beer garden. Grimm said the garden design was a hit and would be enlarged this year.
