"The price is $50 for the whole season," she said. "We are excited to have people come out for this. I think it will be a great addition to our downtown."
Triphahn said the flat fee will cover the entire season.
"We think that is a reasonable price for our first season," she said.
The vendor fees will go to the Chamber Beautification fund.
For the first Friday, there are five confirmed vendors. They are:
* Angel Cake Bakery;
* Deb's Crafts & Baked Goods;
* Back to Nature Farms;
* Papin Quilts & Wooden Banks; and
* Mueller Mini-Farm.
Triphahn said interested vendors are still welcome to sign up.
"I expect it to pick up after this first week," she said.
Until vegetable crops are in, the market will feature baked goods, plants, quilts and wooden banks.
The market will be open from 3 p.m. until dusk every Friday evening until the end of October.
The market will offer fresh, locally grown produce, handcrafted items, eggs, baked goods, jellies and jams, herbs, cut flowers, bedding plants and other perennials.
Guidelines
* Vendors may not arrive before 2 p.m.;
* Vendors are required to have and display current permits;
* Vendors are not allowed the sale of live animals or poultry;
* Vendors must show proof of automobile insurance when applying for a permit;
* Vendor damages to city property or citizens injured is vendors' responsibility;
* Vendors must supply table and/or rack for products and take waste at the end of day;
* Vendors are responsible for reporting sales tax to state of Missouri;
* Vendors must supply bags or boxes for customer;
* Vendors can offer samples to customers in a small container;
* Vendors must wear plastic gloves when distributing samples of products;
* No cutting samples after market starts.
No knives are allowed.
Music
The Chamber also is looking for musical groups to entertain both vendors and customers.
Interested groups can contact Triphahn about scheduling a play date. All acts must be acoustic.
