Simmons has been in the cosmetology field, working as a stylist for 20 years.
She decided to open the spa in Washington "because I wanted a comfortable atmosphere to work in," she said.
Simmons told The Missourian that the name of her company is meant to represent its staff's work ethic toward clients.
"The name Spa 4 U represents just that. We are a very down to earth team," she said. Six experienced and professional stylists work with Simmons.
"We pride ourselves in serving the everyday person. We feel that everyone should be able to pamper themselves regardless of income," she said.
Spa 4 U has more veteran employees than other spas in the area, Simmons noted.
"We're smaller, but we can be more personable with our customers. We try to be more familiar with them. They're not just a number to us," she said.
Additionally, Spa 4 U staff can bring their services to individuals' homes.
"We're willing to come to you," she said. "We have a lot of elderly people, who find it's easier when we come to them than for them to come to us."
Spa 4 U provides hair care as well as nail services, performed by staff who focus on natural nail health and offer nail extensions without the odors of other artificial nail programs.
"We also offer pipeless pedicure, which halts the spread of bacteria when receiving foot care services, with a shiatsu massage."
Massages are one of the largest services requested at Spa 4 U. The staff offers hot stone, Swedish, deep tissue and prenatal massages. Body wraps, scrubs and facials also are available.
The spa uses the Dermalogica products and many items from the line can be purchased at Spa 4 U.
Simmons also noted that gift cards to the spa are available.
The spa is open Tuesdays through Saturday. It is located at 548 E. Fifth St. in Washington.
