Moments of Serenity has relocated and will hold an open house next month at its new site on High Street in Washington.

The open house will be held Thursday, May 14, from 5-8 p.m. Door prizes, demonstrations and refreshments will be offered.

The new location offers better parking and all services are now on one level. The one level makes it easier to serve wedding parties, customers wanting multiple services and those with disabilities or difficulties getting around, said owner Jennifer Gildehaus-Balleydier.

Moments of Serenity offers therapeutic message, facials, Belavi facelifts, infrared saunas, hair and nail services, laser electrology, hair removal, craniosacral therapy, lymph drainage, waxing and tanning.

"We should be able to offer something for everyone," Gildehaus-Balleydier said. "Everyone needs somewhere they can go to relax and make it through their day."

While some of the services serve to beautify clients, many also have health benefits.

Infrared sauna technology works to stimulate all the organs, providing relief to those with arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure or cholesterol and fibromyalgia.

The sunless tanning methods used take advantage of food-grade products rich in vitamin D, making it safer and healthier than some other products, Gildehaus-Balleydier said.

The staff of over 20 each offer different specialties.

"We have a really diverse team and can offer multiple services to different clientele," Gildehaus-Balleydier said. "We want to set ourselves apart from anywhere else."

The business attracts women as well as men, she said.

"It's not just a place for women and we built it with that in mind," she noted.

Gildehaus-Balleydier said a number of couples do massages and tanning sessions together.

Other services can be done in a group setting, including pedicures.

"Our goal is to provide better customer service with a friendly staff and services that are provided by professionally trained and licensed therapists and technicians," Gildehaus-Balleydier said.

The business started in 1996 at a location on Main Street before moving to the historic Busch Brewery building.
