If that wasn't enough, Winkelmann added 12 rebounds, seven steals and two assists.
"Shelby had an outstanding game to say the least. She dominated in every area of the game," said Hermann Head Coach Todd Anderson. "She obviously had a great game offensively. Defensively, she was able to pressure their guards and get some steals. I've never seen her attack the boards like she did."
In Hermann's three district tournament games, Winkelmann combined to score 111 points, an average of 37 points per game. She scored 43 points in the district opener against Bourbon.
"Shelby didn't talk about scoring 55 points after the game. It was just another game for her," Anderson said. "She just went about her business. She was happy that we won the game."
Kasey Kirchhofer added eight points and three steals for Hermann.
"Kasey made a big three-pointer early in the game, which helped us relax," Anderson said.
Kallie Leicht finished the game with seven points, three assists and three steals.
Lacey Lackman collected six points, 10 rebounds and three steals.
"Lacey had a good game with 10 rebounds," Anderson said. "She defended well."
Krista Lane pitched in with five points and five rebounds. Karen Rohlfing and Mackenzie Krull both had two points.
Shelby Ruediger, Ashley Brooks, Megan Koenig and McCaulay Montague did not score.
Rachel Kleffner led Fatima with 21 points.
Hermann registered 18 steals in the contest.
"Our defense allowed us to get some baskets in transition," Anderson said. "We got enough pressure on their guards where they had a hard time getting into their offense."
Leading 19-15 after one quarter, the Lady Bearcats erupted in the second period, outscoring Fatima 33-9, to grab a 52-24 halftime advantage.
"We wore them down after the first quarter," Anderson said. "Our kids came in off the bench and we didn't miss a beat."
Hermann added 20 points in the third quarter to increase its lead to 72-34. The fourth quarter was 13-2 in favor of the Lady Bearcats.
Sectional Preview
Hermann advances to the playoffs for the second straight season and for the third time in the last seven years under Anderson's direction.
Licking, seeded second, won the District 10 title by defeating top-seeded Ava in the championship game.
"Licking is similar to us. They're a guard-oriented team. They have a couple of 6-foot girls inside. One of them starts and the other comes off the bench," Anderson said. "They do a lot of dribble-drives to the basket. If a layup is there, they'll take it. If not, they'll kick it out for a three-point shot. Most of their girls can shoot from the outside."
The Lady Bearcats must be prepared to see a number of defensive possibilities in an attempt to slow down Winkelmann.
"From what I've seen, they play strictly man-to-man defense. We have to be ready for a junk defense they might throw at us," Anderson said. "We have to defend well and not allow their kids to get open looks. We have to rebound well and limit their opportunities. If we rebound the ball well, it will give us a chance to get some transition baskets."
