Augusta Elementary School has taken precautionary measures and went on "lockout" Thursday morning due to the suspect still at large from the shooting near the Francis Howell High School campus Wednesday, Nov. 29, in the St. Charles area.

A lockout means the school is continuing daily school functions, but no one is allowed to enter or exit the building without proper authorization. No recess is allowed.

This is only a precautionary measure. No threats or suspicious activity has been reported in the Augusta Elementary area.

Augusta Elementary is part of the Washington School District.
