Augusta Elementary will remain on lockout Tuesday, Dec. 19, as police continue to search for a suspicious person spotted in the area.

According to Washington School District officials, the lockout is a precautionary measure due to a suspicious person located in the Augusta area Monday. The school also was on lockout Monday.

The subject has not been seen on campus and the students have not been in danger, district officials said. A St. Charles County Police officer will be at Augusta Elementary until the lockout is lifted.

A Lockout means the school is continuing daily school functions, but no one is allowed to enter or exit the building without proper authorization. No recess is allowed.
