To The Editor:

As a former state senator and lieutenant governor, I have always held the view that our Missouri Constitution should be amended only in the rarest and most compelling of circumstances. As a fourth-generation hog farmer, from Audrain County, I can tell you that the “right to farm” measure, in the form of Amendment 1, doesn’t make good sense as an amendment to our Constitution, and it will take us down the wrong course for the state I love so much.
