To The Editor:

I have read in The Missourian that our representative in Jefferson City, Dave Schatz, wants parents to be able to remove their children from class when evolution is being taught.

With America’s big need for scientists, why in the world would we want any of our Missouri students to remain scientifically ignorant?

Why put them at a big disadvantage right from the start?

Let’s make sure our Missouri kids get a good education and a chance at the high-paying STEM jobs.

Ignorance of science is not an asset and harassment of science teachers not a noble enterprise.
