To The Editor:

I am a Boy Scout who participated in the Korean War Veterans’ Program last Saturday. Each Scout delivered a medallion to a veteran.

I felt honored as I shook the veteran’s hand and gave him his medallion.

This event drew a large crowd to Krog Park. Channel 5 News from St. Louis was there to report on the program.

The governor, a congressman, and many others gave speeches but the best ones were from the veterans themselves.

Every aspect was well thought out and completely devoted to the veterans. There was a brass band, rifle salute, dove release, sounding of taps, and singing.

I am glad that in the United States of America, we live with freedom due to the veterans who have fought across the globe.
