No Surprise to This Reader Who Is Informed
To The Editor:
In an article published in The National Journal on Oct. 23, 2010, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is quoted thus: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
An editorial published in the Washington Missourian on Feb. 20, 2012, says of U.S. President Barack Obama, “If he’s going to accomplish anything in his second term, he must become involved and reach some agreement with the GOP opposition.”
In light of Mr. McConnell’s quote, The Missourian seems to have completely misunderstood who needs to reach agreement with whom. This comes as a surprise to only the uninformed.
