Perhaps it is because people in our country have maybe given up on the system of government all the way from the local level to the national and international levels of politics. Is it because people are sick to death of various officials saying one thing and doing another? Is it because we have leaders at all levels who have a mode of operation by simply saying this is an executive mandate? Is it because we have officials spending the public’s money for their own pet projects or worse yet embezzling money for their own personal gains?

Thomas Jefferson was quoted as saying: “Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on offices, a rottenness begins in his conduct.” Machiavelli said: “Politics have no relation to morals.” My grandpa told me “that politics is the art of lying and making it sound like the truth!”
