United Way Board Says Thanks!
As co-chairs of this year’s Franklin County Area United Way campaign, we wish to thank the individuals, companies, and organizations of the Franklin County area for their outstanding support and commitment! The United Way board is absolutely thrilled with the results!
A total of $969,709, an increase of 8.9 percent, was raised to provide health and human services to over 70,000 people in 35 communities. Your contributions help strengthen families, nurture and protect children, care for the elderly and disabled, and provide emergency services to those in need. These funds will go a long way toward touching the lives of those people who need it the most.
This increase of $79,196 will make a huge difference in our ability to meet agency and program funding requests of over $1 million. An increase at this level, in this economy, is tremendous. This shows what a wonderful, caring community Franklin County is. The current and future success of the United Way campaign is not about a few people giving a lot, but it is about a lot of caring people giving.
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who made this campaign the wonderful success it was.
Becky Buhr, Campaign Co-Chair and Brad Mitchell, Campaign Co-Chair
