To The Editor:

Since when did society in the children’s sports world think that any child should be out playing sports (games and/or practices) past 7:00 p.m. during the week or any time at all?

My eight-year-old third-grader has more Sunday night baseball games that start at 8 p.m. than any other game scheduled and this is during the school year.

I just scratch my head to all of you who plan our children’s events, activities and sports who think that any child getting home at 10 p.m. or later on a school night is acceptable.

What on earth are we thinking?

Our children won’t have to worry at all about earning a sports scholarship because with less than seven hours of sleep, they probably won’t be healthy enough to attend college when they are 18.

Come on people, use your heads!
