To The Editor:
After being a volunteer at The Moving Wall and going back with my wife again to visit and watch some of the daily programs that were held, I had to write this letter.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Friends of Vietnam Veterans for a job very well done. I have been to see the Wall at several other locations, but the way it was set up here has been the best that I have seen. I heard that from quite a few other people who came by as I was working.
Everyone who worked on the committee, as well as the city of Washington and other communities for their help to make this happen need a big thank you. We also need to thank all the different organizations and businesses that made donations to help with the Wall. It was very moving to see so many people come together to make this happen and to see all the people who came out to view The Moving Wall and to pay tribute to the men and women listed on the Wall.
Last, and not least, no matter what you thought of the war, we need to give a big thank you to all the Vietnam vets for their service to the country and welcome them home. We should thank all our veterans as well, including all active duty ones, no matter what war they were in, because of all of them we enjoy the freedoms we have today.
God Bless America.
