To The Editor:

In response to Mr. Ree’s letter regarding the pedestrian trail being on the wrong side of the bridge.

Let’s start by asking, how many people do you think will even consider fishing from the bridge?

I’m guessing the bridge is at least 80 feet above the river. I seriously doubt many people would realistically want to fish from the bridge.

Secondly, I would hope the city puts up “No Fishing” signs for the overall safety of the boaters going under the bridge. The last thing they want is somebody getting snagged in the face, arm, or wherever because somebody thought is was a novel idea to fish from the bridge.

Keep it on the west side as you have it shown so everyone can enjoy a view of Washington from the bridge, and not move it so someone jokes about “Hey, guess what I caught from the bridge today!”
