To The Editor:
Once again Franklin County officials side with a large corporation and disses Franklin County residents.
A permit has been issued to Purina Farms to connect to Decker Road. Decker Road in no way can handle the weight of milk trucks, hay trucks, feed trucks and tour buses.
When it falls apart the cost will be passed along to county residents. This was done without any input from county residents who live on Decker. Mr. Feldmann has pointed out they don’t have to. Why would they want the input of county residents? Silly me!
Mr. Feldmann was quoted as saying that the intersection of Decker and 100 isn’t a bad intersection with plenty of visibility. I think Mr. Feldmann really needs to go take a look at the intersection between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and try pulling out of there in a big rig. I think he would look at that intersection in a different light.
Purina Farms has been using the access road off MM for a lot of years with no problems and MM is a state road so the state pays for its repairs. Someone please tell me why they think putting the tax burden onto county residents is better than leaving that cost to the state?
Mr Brinker, Mr. Feldmann, can you answer this? I know you don’t answer your phone.
In closing, all I can say is Franklin County used to be a great place to live and was represented by people who respected the residents of Franklin County. Those were the days, my friends.
Mr. Brinker and Mr. Feldmann, thank you for nothing. Once again you have turned your backs on the residents of Franklin County.
Mr. Mitchell, thank you for doing a piece on the dilemma of Decker Road. The residents of Decker appreciate it.
I am not the only one who disapproves of this plan.
