To The Editor:
A very deserving dedication took place this week at Mercy Hospital Washington.
Bill Miller Sr. was recognized for his many faithful years of promoting health care in our community. Acknowledged for serving the Washington hospitals (St. Francis, St. John’s and Mercy) since 1969 as a board member and then chairman of the board from 1976 until 2016, a plaque was unveiled at the east end of the facility’s covered walk bridge. Part of the inscription reads:
“Through his outstanding leadership and service, William L. Miller has helped bridge our past to a bright, healthy future.”
He of course downplayed the accolades, claiming there were many other people just as deserving of the recognition. Please be selfish and accept the spotlight this time, Mr. Miller – it is well deserved.
Thank you for everything you have done for Mercy and the overall high-quality state of health care in our area. You are indeed a great role model of service to Washington and our surrounding communities.
