To The Editor:
Dear Washington —
My husband and I came to your “Senior Day” on Wednesday for the first time.
We were surprised at the large crowd, and soon realized why the large attendance. All there were having a great time with wonderful food, fellowship and even bingo going on under the pavilion.
We were ushered from our car via golf cart (and back), treated to a nice ride downtown by the river on a tram, and just had a beautiful and pleasant time there.
I wanted to thank you for all the preparations, the generous food, the wonderful ice cream and fun atmosphere to enjoy the day. I also want to thank those wonderful volunteers. Never have I seen so many servants there at our every need, bringing food, cleaning up dishes, answering all our queries, and just smiling and being the most pleasant I have ever been blessed to encounter — everyone from the cart driver, to the food servers, to the drink servers, and even the tour guide.
You are truly blessed as a community with your wonderful groups of volunteers who give so much to so many who love those smiles even more than the food! Looking forward to next year!
