To The Editor:
I find it very ludicrous that people are trying to change or erase the legacy and history of their own political party by desecrating and tearing down monuments of their heroes and ideologies of days gone by.
These monuments were erected by your own party. This contorted behavior will not change what the Democratic Party has stood for.
If you are so ashamed of your own party, why don’t you change parties?
The great Democratic president, Franklin Roosevelt, would not take the advice of his wife, Eleanor, and fight for civil rights, because he was afraid to lose the votes of the Democrats in the South, the founders of the KKK. Should we also remove him from the dime? Read your history books.
