To The Editor:

Washington’s volunteer spirit was certainly on display during a successful Fair Aug. 2-6. Our community is second to none when asked to support the Fair. The Town and Country Fair would not be possible if it were not for all of the volunteers who make it happen. We can’t thank you enough for your support at this year’s Fair.

To our many sponsors and advertisers, the success of the Fair would not be possible without your support year after year. We are amazed at your generosity and support each year to make the Fair the success it is.

A big Thank You to the city of Washington, Parks Department, Washington EMS crew and Police Department for the many hours put in at this year’s event.

All of the volunteer hours given by the Washington Fire Department. Also your help with the 911 Memorial exhibit.

Thank you to the VFW Honor Guard for opening the exhibit on Wednesday of the Fair.

The entire Fair Board was extremely proud to see citizens of Washington lining the streets to welcome the exhibit into town. What a sight to see!

To the Chamber for all the volunteer time and to the Chamber staff that work so hard behind the scenes year after year. This event would not be possible without your hard work and support.

Last but not least, a special thank you to the Fair Board. I have never seen a more dedicated team of volunteers that works so hard, so many hours, to ensure that everyone attending the Fair has a safe and enjoyable time. We were thrown a few curves this year, but that did not deter this amazing board from making the best of the situation and turning it into a positive.

Again, we would like to thank the Washington community for spending five days in Fairadise with us to make this year’s event a huge success!
