In addressing the United Nations, President Donald Trump said America would be a partner in the organization’s work to be a more effective force for peace across the globe.

Often a critic of the United Nations, the president said the organization should reduce its bureaucracy and costs.

The United Nations has 193 nations that are members. Think of the bureaucracy that means! It’s mind-boggling!

Who can argue with the president’s assessment that the organization has not reached its full potential due to its bureaucracy and mismanagement. He criticized its ballooning budget.

The president said we are not seeing the results in line with this investment. He’s right. The United States foots a large portion of the United Nations’ budget.

We doubt if the best efficiency expert in the world could bring cost-saving measures to such a large organization that involves so many countries.
