The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has a new chief engineer. He is Ed Hassinger, who has served as St. Louis district engineer for the past 12 years,

Hassinger has been with MoDOT for 29 years and has wide experience with the state agency. He is well acquainted with Franklin County and knows and understands what the transportation needs are in this area. He has been in the county many times in his role as district engineer.

With his experience he is well suited for the top engineering job with MoDOT. He always has been approachable, professional and always cooperated when information was needed. He listened to the highway needs given to him by officials and the people of Franklin County. With the city of St. Louis and St. Louis County in his district, he had a heavy responsibility load, and he gained valuable experience.

He has the qualifications needed to be the state’s chief engineer. We wish him well in his new position.
