There is a race for lieutenant governor of Missouri, which historically has never reached the top step on the south entrance at the state Capitol when it comes to interest. It should be of more interest since the office rests right below the top elected official of Missouri.

Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder, Republican, is seeking re-election. He is seeking a third four-year term. He served 12 years in the Missouri Senate before being elected lieutenant governor in 2004. As lieutenant governor, he presides over the Missouri Senate.
