Every week or so The Missourian receives an email from a group called WalletHub, which rates cities in their standing in many aspects of life. The latest is the top 20 most fun cities in America.

WalletHub rated cities with the greatest number of cheap, fun activities and with the data it researched, then compared the 150 largest U.S. cities across 58 key metrics, ranging from fitness clubs per capita to movie costs to average open hours of breweries.

St. Louis was given a 14th-place rating.

Las Vegas was ranked No. 1, followed by Orlando, New York, Miami and Portland, in the top five. Next came Atlanta, San Francisco, New Orleans, Chicago and San Diego. Ahead of St. Louis were Denver, Los Angeles and Cincinnati. Ranked below St. Louis were Tampa, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Austin, Houston and Seattle.

With what has been going on in St. Louis lately, a 14th ranking as a fun city is good news.
