If you haven’t given to the Franklin County Area United Way, now is the time.

The 2013 campaign ends this Friday and it’s going to be close as to whether the resilient organization is able to reach its ambitious goal of $1,000,060. Very close, according to campaign officials.

You can make the difference both in terms of the campaign and in making our community a better place.

A gift of $100, $50 or even $10 could push the United Way — which is celebrating 60 years of building better communities this year — over its campaign goal.

Why give? Funds raised will benefit 48 area agencies and programs in the area. This past year, more than 70,000 people in 35 neighboring communities were touched by these services. Better yet, the overwhelming majority of the money is used locally. With the economy still sputtering, the need has never been greater.

If you have a little extra to help someone less fortunate, there is no better way than the United Way and there is no better time than now.
