If the first two days are an indication, the Washington Town and Country Fair is off to a fast start toward being a huge success. The crowds Wednesday and Thursday were exceptional.
There have been darkened skies, some rain, some sun, not so hot, and the fairgrounds is in excellent shape. Optimism is high. The crowds seem to be enjoying every minute of the Fair. Many familiar faces can be seen all over the fairgrounds. The entertainment the first two days has drawn praise. The new carnival rides drew mixed results in The Missourian’s “On the Street” survey.
The food and other refreshment stands had brisk business Wednesday and Thursday. Contest entries are strong. The livestock judging is as competitive as in the past.
All in all, the 2013 Fair is bringing as much enjoyment as in the past. It has something for all ages to enjoy.
We hear the same question: Where do all the people come from? The answer is from a very wide area. Another remark we’ve heard often is, people-watching at the Fair is “enjoyable.” Others say it’s “amusing.”
Friendships are renewed at the Fair. It’s the place to be this weekend!
