To The Editor:

The Franklin County Fair is celebrating 60 years July 10-13.

Without the volunteers, supporters, organizations, and businesses the Fair could not be an annual event for our community. One of our big supporters is also celebrating 60 years, Union FFA. The FFA alumni and current students have not only helped with events, but spend many hours helping prepare the grounds for the Fair. Without the help of the FFA, Franklin County 4-H, local nonprofit and civic organizations, this four-day event would not be possible. Thank you to all involved.

Although the assistance of these volunteers is an important tier of the Fair, the backbone comes from the dedication of individuals and businesses who advertise in the Franklin County Fair book. The Fair book raises the funds for the board to improve on events and capital improvements to the fairgrounds. The Franklin County Fair Board would like to thank each and everyone who have been the financial backbone each year over the past 60 years.

At this time we would like to thank one of our top advertisers: Taco Bell, W & M Restaurants, which was omitted from the back cover during the development of the 2014 book.

Taco Bell of Union, Washington, and St. Clair, are the sponsors of the new event Friday, July 11: Lil Monster Truck Show and sponsor of our 2nd Annual Leonard Brautigam Memorial Truck and Tractor Pull, Sunday, July 13.

We thank Taco Bell for being a continued supporter not only toward our advertising, but also supporting our annual events. The board apologizes for this clerical error and hopes to continue building relationships with our businesses, individuals, volunteers, supporters and organizations that continue to provide the Franklin County Fair to our community.
