Dale Franklin "Cowboy" Curtis, 67, Union, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Curtis was born Jan. 25, 1944, in De Soto, the son of Stanley Curtis and wife Myrtle, nee Coleman.

On June 29, 1996, he was united in marriage to Joy in Pacific.

Mr. Curtis loved horseback riding, playing music, fishing and his loyal companion, Shadow. He was a good man with a huge heart who never met a stranger. He was a beloved friend of Bill W. and Dr. Bob.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Myrtle Curtis; and one daughter, Carla Jo Conley.

Mr. Curtis is survived by his wife, Joy Curtis, Union; one son, John Wayne Curtis and wife Stephanie, Chino, Calif.; one daughter, Cheri Curtis, Union; his stepchildren, Bobby Hampton, St. Clair, and John Hampton and wife Linda, Florida state; one brother, Jim Curtis, Crystal City; one sister, Shirley Wolk and husband Potty, Crystal City; several cherished grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service was scheduled to be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Pacific Facility, Pacific.
