Homer H. Rubach, 97, Campbell Hill, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at  Mercy Hospital Washington.

Mr. Rubach was born March 21, 1914, in Campbell Hill, Ill., to Herman A. Rubach and wife Emma, nee Pinkerton.

He married Jewel M. Rogers April 17, 1947, in St. Louis. He was retired from Egyptian Electric, Steeleville, Ill. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II.

Mr. Rubach was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, Ill., a life member of the B.B.K. American Legion Post 480 in Steeleville, Ill., Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post 3553 in Chester, Ill., and the DAV; and a past master and life member of the Alma Lodge 497 A.F. & A.M., Steeleville, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Jewel Rubach, Campbell Hill, Ill.; two daughters, Sheila Talley and husband George, South Pines, N.C., and Emma Ritter and husband Don, Steeleville, Ill.; one son, Phillip Rubach and wife Judy, Union; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one half brother, Ralph Rubach and wife Jeanette, Steeleville, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Jackie Rubach, Fort Charlotte, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Rubach was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 14, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, Ill., with the Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating.

Burial followed in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, Ill., with a military graveside service conducted by Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post 3553.

Memorials to St. Mark's Lutheran Church are preferred.
