Charles Parvin Shockley, 81, New Haven, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Cedarcreast Manor, Washington.
Mr. Shockley was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Uniontown, Ky., the son of James Ellis Shockley and wife Bertha Mae, nee Walker.
On Aug. 13, 1952, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Beabout in Wheatcroft, Ky.
Mr. Shockley grew up in Union County, Ky. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. Mr. Shockley attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, for toolmaking. He retired from Chrysler Corporation, Fenton, and was the owner of Campbellton Machine Shop and Suburban Engineering.
He was a member of the Washington V.F.W. Post 2661 and DAV, as well as an active member of Faith Baptist Church.
Mr. Shockley was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bertha Shockley; two sisters, Delilah Ford ansd Lily Mae Beabout; and seven brothers, Richard, William, Robert, Gilbert, Hershel, Marvin and Morris Shockley.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Shockley, nee Beabout; five children, Nita Pace and husband Michael, St. Louis, Rhonda Watermann and husband Gary, Euless, Texas, Nancy Amburgey and husband Lee, Marthasville, Chuck Shockley and wife Susan and Toni Mickle and husband Bryan, all of New Haven; two sisters, Lucille Robards, Affton, and Jean Harlson, Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Junior Shockley and wife Betty, Sturgis, Ky.; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Sue O'Leary, Eureka, Judy Shockley and Elva Shockley; 10 grandchildren, Torbin Pace, Lindsey Pace and special friend C.J. Snook, Justin Watermann and wife Melissa, Susan Watermann and special friend David Huxel, Matt Watermann, Jessica Amburgey, Andrew Amburgey, Lynelle Shockley and special friend Scott Faltemier, Charles James "C.J." Shockley and wife Hannah and Conner Shockley; two great-grandsons, Noah and Gabe Watermann; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and many friends. Mr. Shockley will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 9, at Faith Baptist Church, Washington.
Burial with military honors was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Washington.
Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or Faith Baptist Church, Washington, are preferred.
The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
