Frances L. Buhr
Frances L. Buhr, 93, Washington, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18,
2012.
Mrs. Buhr was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Beaufort, the daughter of
Frank R. Koppelmann and wife Anna, nee Segelhorst.
She received her education in the Beaufort schools. On May 10,
1941, she was united in marriage to Frank Buhr at St.
John's-Gildehaus Church.
They made their home in Washington and seven children were born
to this marriage. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes
Church.
Mrs. Buhr was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in
February of 2006.
She is survived by two sons, Leon Buhr and wife Helen, New
Haven, and John Buhr and wife Linda, Villa Ridge; five daughters,
Donna Himmelberg and husband Robert and Mary Baucom and husband
Bill, all of Washington, Betty Kampschroeder and husband Ed,
Wilmington, N.C., Kelly Schweissguth and husband Burt, Dutzow, and
Vicky Dotson and husband Fred, Lakeland, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorena Hendrix, Union; other
relatives and many friends.
A memorial Mass was held Saturday, Jan. 21, at Our Lady of
Lourdes Church, Washington, with Father Mike Boehm officiating.
Donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, St. Vincent
de Paul Society or Heartland Hospice.
