Evelyn Louise Buckshot, 74, Warrenton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Parklane Care, Wentzville.

Mrs. Buckshot was born May 18, 1937, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the daughter of Victor J. Jansen and wife Nettie, nee Heaton.

Also known as the "Toy Lady," she worked in the toy department at Walmart, Washington, until her retirement.

She was a fun and loving person who brought so much joy to her grandchildren as well as many others who came to know her. She had several interests that included playing cards, reading, needlepoint and gardening.

Mrs. Buckshot brought these interests to life by enjoying them with her children and grandchildren. Over the years, she grew particularly fond of her pets, Pretty Bird and Mouser, the cat. She is now at peace due to her strong faith in God.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Stubblefield, Warrenton, and Carol Wheeler and husband Butch, Wright City; one brother, Victor Jansen and wife Olga, Monett; one sister, Patricia Pomeroy and husband Jerry, Monett; seven grandchildren, Erica Brown, Jessica Hall, Jacob and Katie Stubblefield, Leroy Wheeler II, Emily Martin and Christian Wheeler; six great-grandchildren, Kara, Levin and Nolan Brown and Savannah, Isaac and Ella Martin; other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Buckshot was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Nettie Jansen.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.

Memorials to St. Louis University Genetic Research, in care of Martin Funeral Home are preferred.
