There will be no trash pickup in the city of Union Monday, Aug. 21, the day of the total solar eclipse.

City Administrator Russell Rost said the contractor was concerned about their trucks making it back and forth because of the potential for increased traffic in the city due to the eclipse.

Services will operate on a holiday schedule and one day later than normal pickup.

Additionally, yard waste pickup has been rescheduled from Aug. 23 to Aug. 30.
