Washington police are seeking charges against a teen accused of setting a fire in a bathroom at a gas station.
Police were called Friday, July 13, to West End Station on Fifth Street to a report of a small fire in the bathroom.
An employee told police she was going into the bathroom when she saw the teen coming out. When she opened the door she noticed smoke and flames coming from a trash can in the bathroom, police said. Employees extinguised the blaze before it caused any damage.
Police obtained a description of the teen and the truck he was driving and located him a short time later in the city park, according to a report.
The 17-year-old Washington teen was questioned about the incident, then booked and released pending a decision by the prosecuting attorney’s office on possible charges.
