The first of seven Sunset on the Riverfront events will take place next Thursday, April 26.
The outdoor parties are held the fourth Thursday of the month from April through October from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rennick Riverfront Park.
This marks the 10th season for the Sunsets, hosted by Downtown Washington Inc.
“It’s a great way to spend an evening with friends and family,” said Bridgette Epple, executive director.
“We invite everyone to come enjoy the family-oriented festival which offers live music, delicious food and drinks, and a lively atmosphere at the Rennick Riverfront Pavilion,” said Epple,
Live entertainment will be featured each month. Wine, beer and soda will be available for purchase, as well as a variety of food from local restaurants.
Businesses and groups donate their time and tips each month to serve the drinks, Epple noted.
Epple said the events are family friendly and all are welcome to attend. Pets are not allowed, she said, and no outside alcohol may be brought in.
The entertainment for April 26 will be Onyx. The volunteer bartenders will be from Allure Salon & Spa.
The food vendors for next Thursday have not been announced.
Other Sunset events are planned for May 24, June 28, July 26, Aug. 23, Sept. 27, and Oct. 25.

Epple said the Sunsets are a great way to promote local bands and restaurants.
Developed in 2003, Sunsets have since become a staple in the community, she said, bringing patrons to Downtown Washington’s riverfront park after the winter season.
