One new member and three incumbents will begin two-year terms on the Washington City Council Monday night.

Josh Brinker will be sworn in as the new Ward 4 representative. Brinker won the seat by defeating incumbent Carolyn Witt in the Tuesday, April 3, election.

Also being sworn in next Monday are Mark Hidritch, Ward 2, who defeated a challenger to win a second two-year term, and incumbents Steve Sullentrup, Ward 1, and Tim Brinker, Ward 3, who were unopposed in the April 3 election.

Municipal Judge Craig Hellmann, who defeated one challenger, and City Attorney Mark Piontek, who was unopposed, also will be given the oath of office.

The regular Washington City Council meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Monday.

The current council will open with a regular session and then adjourn and reconvene after the newly elected officials are sworn in.
