Storms Knocked Out Power to Thousands
Saturday’s severe weather did more than just shut down the Washington Town and Country Fair.
About 5,000 Ameren Missouri customers in Franklin County were without power following the storms.
More than half of those customers had power restored by 9:30 a.m. Sunday, according to an official with the company’s communications department.
Nearly 2,000 of the 5,000 impacted were in Washington.
Only about 800 were without power by noon and only about 160 by 2 p.m. All customers had power restored by 5 p.m. Sunday.
Another front moved through the area earlier in the day on Aug. 4. That storm knocked out power to about 300 Ameren customers in southern Warren County and 200 in Franklin County.
The Warren County outages were reportedly fixed by 8:30 a.m. with those in Franklin County resolved by 2 p.m.
