A Franklin County man sustained serious injuries Saturday night in a one-car crash, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

The patrol said Jason R. Walls, 29, Robertsville, was taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Creve Coueur, after he lost control of the 2001 Dodge he was driving southbound on Highway NN.

The driver failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the ride side of the road, striking an embankment. Walls was not wearing a safety belt, according to the preliminary patrol report.

The 10:15 p.m. crash happened north of Rock Church Road, the patrol said.

Walls later was arrested and released pending a formal charge of driving while intoxicated, according to an arrest report on the patrol's website.
