The American Legion Post 218 fireworks display is Monday, July 4, at the Washington Farigrounds, beginning at dusk.

Gates at the Fairgrounds will open at 5:30 p.m.

Lantis Fireworks and Lasers, Eureka, is the company the Legion uses to shoot the fireworks.

Lantis will shoot off about 900 shells during the display.

Donations for the display will be collected at the gates as people come in.

The South gate will be handicap accessible, Anderson said.

No food, coolers or bottles other than baby bottles will be allowed in the park.

The rain date will be July 5.

To help raise funds for the Post 218 baseball program, the boys baseball team, their parents and Don Schneider, a volunteer representative of the baseball team, will man the food stand where they will cook and sell snacks at games and the display.

During the fireworks, the teams will walk around the fairgrounds with buckets to collect donations for the display.

The Legion said they depend on people and businesses donating to keep the fireworks alive. Those who wish to donate can call 636-239-4363 or 636-239-7013.
