A one-vehicle crash on Highway 47 between Augusta Bottom Road and the Missouri River bridge caused a power outage Monday night for 1,715 Ameren Missouri customers in the southern portion of Warren County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Martha L. Garner, 69, Hawk Point, was driving southbound when she failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the road. Garner’s 2007 Chrysler Town and Country then struck a utility pole guywire and continued down a large embankment.

The accident was reported at 8:42 p.m. Garner was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington with moderate injuries, the patrol reported. She was wearing a seat belt.

According to an Ameren official, 600 customers had their power restored almost immediately and the remaining customers had their power back on within an hour of the crash.
