Hometown Christmas Deemed a Success
By Chris Waltz, Record Editor
The Missourian
The 24th annual Hometown Christmas last Friday was a huge success.
Everyone who assisted with the organization and execution of the event deserves to be commended and congratulated.
Although there is no way to determine how many people attended the event, which was held in Downtown Warrenton, a large crowd was on hand from the beginning of the festivities through the conclusion.
Participating businesses reported large and steady crowds for the duration of the holiday celebration.
A number of factors contributed to the successful event — one of those being the unseasonably mild weather — but the copious variety of entertainment, activities and attractions also helped.
From children’s activities and family-oriented attractions to the displays at the Warren County Historical Museum and tours at the Schowengerdt House, Hometown Christmas offered something for everyone.
However, no event, no matter how well planned, organized and executed, can be successful without the support of the community, and the Warrenton community showed its support for Hometown Christmas by attending and participating.
