Search Warrant Nets 13 Arrests
By Tim Schmidt, Record Editor
The Missourian
Wright City police arrested 13 individuals Friday night after executing a search warrant at a home located in the Lake Tucci subdivision.
Those taken into custody and likely to face drug-related charges included two 16-year-old juveniles and 11 adults ranging from 17 to 47 years old, Wright City detective Tim Matthews said.
The search warrant was executed at 10 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Lake Tucci Circle, according to Matthews. Inside the home police found marijuana in multiple packages and $1,000 worth of drug paraphernalia. One suspect was found to be in possession of the drug Xanax, police said.
Twelve of the suspects were taken into custody for drug possession. One suspect could be charged with felony drug distribution, Three of the individuals arrested lived at the residence according to police.
The adults were booked at the Warren County Jail and released pending the filing of formal charges. The two juveniles were released at the scene to their parents, Matthews reported.
He said most of the suspects were from the Wright City area.
Police did not release the names of the suspects.
Matthews said police conducted surveillance of the home prior to the execution of Friday’s search warrant and logged the traffic that was entering and leaving the residence.
“We’ve had a lot of complaints from the neighborhood about suspicious vehicles coming and going at all times during the day,” he told The Record. “It was labeled as a nuisance.”
Matthews was thankful for the tip that led to the drug bust and hopes that kind of support continues from residents.
“It sends a statement to the neighborhood,” he remarked. “The larger goal was to let the residents know our police department is there to serve them. The more participation we can get, the more effective we can be in our job.”
